Initial Thoughts 22-11-24
It's been a long day but I am sitting at Portsmouth station reflecting on what I've learnt.
Firstly, there is an interesting bunch of people. Around 25 of us with varying backgrounds - pretty much a 50/50 gender split, which was welcome and refreshing when I think about tech training and events of the past.
A mix of ages too - not just male, pale and stale dinosaurs like me.
It feels quite bizarre having a student card in my wallet again.
As they wanted a suitable headshot quickly I sent them the image I use on my LinkedIn profile that was taken at my youngest daughter's graduation ceremony just over a year ago.
In retrospect a grey haired guy wearing a suit and tie looks quite laughable on a student card but I'm going to milk it for all it's worth until it expires next May.
I like the course leader a lot. He has a good balance of academic credibility with strong business awareness. Also, I think the University is doing a worthwhile job partnering with local business networks to create this sort of intensive course.
Time will tell but initial impressions are very favourable.
