Welcome to AI Bootcamp Bulletin. 

This is a resource created to share learning from a six month Leadership Skills course I am embarking on at Portsmouth University from November 22nd 2024.

I will not be replicating the whole course - as that is clearly the University's Intellectual Property - but I will be providing my interpretation of the learning based on a 30 year career spanning marketing, project management and web development.

What I struggled with as a student the first time around was applying hypothetical knowledge to real life scenarios. I prefer to learn through doing and in that respect this site itself is helping that process. It is based on Drupal 11 with a Learning Management System distribution (Opigno) in the background and an 'out of the box' but very capable theme - Solo .

I'll probably modify and adapt the approach as things progress but ultimately I am aiming to provide a useful reference point for others as well as the discipline of revisiting and retaining the knowledge I am gaining.

As well as giving an interpretation of the course, with pointers for further learning, I am incorporating what I'm calling 'Genesis Gems' along the way.

'Secret Santa' got it spot on this last Xmas with a book that has had me thoroughly engrossed over the holiday period.

The book itself has pencil scribbles all over it now and I've extracted quotes that seem very relevant to the course content - mainly because they translate complex ideas into relatable themes.

To communicate about this development on LinkedIn I have developed an AI Bootcamp 'mascot' that I've nicknamed 'Jambo'. 

This is an experiment in Generative AI capabilities for character, image and video production primarily using RunwayML.
